A look at the competition: Team Sweden

Sweden Roster

Team Sweden, the defending Olympic Champions, bring a very experienced roster to Vancouver in hopes of a gold medal repeat. Thirteen of the twenty-three players from 2006 have been named to the Sweden Roster for the 2010 Olympics. Team Sweden brings a great wealth of intelligence and probably play the best 2-way game of any other Olympic hockey team. With players like Henrik Zetterberg, Daniel Alfredsson, and Samuel Palsson you have three of the best defensive forwards in the NHL. Sweden also has the luxury of having on of the best international goalies in Henrik Lundqvist who is used to playing in pressure packed games. Peter Forsberg is the biggest unknown on the squad. If he plays similar to the Forsberg of the early 2000’s, Sweden has a great chance at taking home the gold as when healthy Forsberg is one of the best all-around players in the world.
