Canada Juniors

The Canadian Mens National Junior hockey team (Team Canada) represents Canada in one of the most popular tournaments – the IIHF World Junior Hockey championships tournament taking place from December to January each year. Many players that participate in the tournament have been drafted or are about to be drafted and are future NHL players. These championship tournaments are typically sold old when held in Canada and have higher television ratings than the Men’s World Championship tournaments. In Canada, Boxing Day has become a symbolic day as the first Canadian game is played to kick off the tournament.

World Junior Championships

The World Junior Championships began in 1977 and take place every Christmas season. Team Canada has had a great track record in these events since 2002 – winning gold from 2005-2009 (5 years in a row) and silver from 2002-2004.
